Men Hairstyles- Author: - Comments are closed
The hottest men’s hairstyles were polished and neat. It was all about looking cool in a refined and sophisticated kind of way. Men’s hairstyles are a lot more relaxed. It’s not all about meticulously-styled looking hair. This year, you’re allowed to chill out a bit and take it easy on the hair-front. While you will obviously want to look good, it’s perfectly fine if a few strands are out of place. In fact, it’s encouraged. Instead of working against a person’s natural texture, this year, it’s all about working with it. For instance, a guy with waves should find a way to incorporate them into his hairstyle and not true to camouflage them.
Choppy hairstyles, longer hair, the front wave and square-shaped cuts (for African-American men) have proven to be popular in 2011. Choppy or ‘piecey’ hairstyles or cuts can be worn very short and also during the transition period when a guy’s hair is starting to grow out. This type of style works great with a side part but not one that’s too neat. A few out-of-place strands work well with this hairstyle. A little hair wax or pomade is perfect for creating the ‘piecey’ look. Use your fingers to comb through it. This style also looks good on longer hair. To achieve more control, you may want to try a gel mouse or wax, if your hair is really thick.
The Front Wave seems to be making a comeback. This hairstyle was popular in 1980s and like many things popular during that decade has seemed to make a comeback. This hairstyle has a very natural feel and appearance. It looks a bit windswept and “stylist be damned.” This hairstyle can only be achieved when the hair is at least medium-length. Comb the hair back on both sides of your head to achieve this look. To really modernize this style, place a little product in it. It will make it appear wet. Skip out on the mouse and try gel instead. Comb the hair, beginning at the root and then sweep it both backwards and to one side. It should have some volume but not too much.
African American men are opting for low, square-shaped hairstyles and cuts this year with sharp lines with perhaps a few asymmetrical lines thrown in for special effect in 2011. The goal is simple, modern and classic.
